Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport

This hotel is really nice and in a really nice location. It’s close to the airport and they do a free airport shuttle. It’s also close to a lot of stores and restaurants. They don’t do free breakfast and the breakfast is a little pricey. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. It was big. We had our baby with a portable crib and there was plenty of room.

As a Diamond member, I stay at a lot of Hilton properties and almost always have a good experience. This was not the case for this property. 1. There are no closets or hangers to hang clothing. 2. The internet kept dropping to slow, dial-up speeds. When this was reported, I was told that it was my problem and needed to call a tech support line for Hilton. 3. There is no pool. 4. My two-room suite had no air vents in the living room/office area, making it too uncomfortably warm to work in. 5. The day before I left, $32 was stolen from the desk area. Save your money and stay at the Embassy Suites 1 mile closer to the PDX airport. The Embassy suites staff let me use their business center to work in even though I was staying at the Garden Inn down the road. It was too warm in my room to work. Disappointing stay.

Treated me like a second class citizen when asking for access to an outlet to charge my phone. I arrived on the shuttle even went I to ask for change to tip the shuttle driver. I was to wait for my family member to arrive in town i needed to tell him I arrived and was going to wait for them to land. My grandmother just died and they wanted to spend time with me here in Portland. He wanted to pay for the hotel so it was not in my name so they didn’t even care, told me to plug in my phone at McDonald’s Donald’s down the road so I walked to McDonald’s Donald’s we will now meet up at a new hotel and I won’t be booking with Hilton again. Sad because I liked the one I stayed at last month in NY state and was was talking them up to everyone EDIT: Crazy that you think McDonald's a public space. I have just as much right to be at McDonalds and I do you hotel lobby. LEAGALY. Mc Donald's is a PRIVLEY ONWED COMPANY and is ASLO PRIVATE PROPERTY that it ALLOWS customers to use enter to provide some form of service. THEY ALSO PROVIDE SUPPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE to the PUBLIC to keep them coming back or to GAIN NEW CUSTOMERS such as bathroom use and Wi-Fi. Clearly you have no handle on Customer service or you would know the difference. I like how you are the same person responding to the issue that CAUSED IT. I guess I NEED to email corporate to get real feedback addressed. I just needed to charge my phone to communicate to family that was quiet and able for us to coordinate. I wasn't a bother to anyone at all. I tried to explain my situation and that it was likely he was to book his room there. He was still on a flight and I needed to text him room information and get information for the payment ETC. he didn't have working wifi on the plane just iMessage services and WHY WOULD I LEAVE THE AIRPORT WITH FREE EVERYTHING TO COME TO YOUR LOBBY unless there was a plan too BE A CUSTOMER! OMG. my phone died on the shuttle ride to your HOTEL. you should haven't responded making me more upset about it during the death of my grandmother and me trying to spend time with my family!
